Redeeming a Makeup Lesson
Schedule a lesson that uses up a makeup a student is owed.

- 1
Start a new one-time lesson
On the Schedule calendar, click a time slot, or click Add Event and select Add New Lesson. Makeups can only be redeemed on one-time lessons — under Frequency, make sure one-time event is selected (recurring lessons can't redeem makeups).
- 2
Select the student who is owed a makeup
Choose the teacher, then select the enrolled student — or multiple students, for a group lesson. If a selected student has an outstanding makeup, a Makeup lesson section will appear.
- 3
Redeem the makeup
Check the Redeem a makeup for [student name] option. If the student is owed more than one makeup, use the dropdown to pick which missed lesson to redeem. Redeeming marks that credit as used.
- 4
Check the duration (optional)
If the makeup was for a different lesson length than the one you're scheduling — for example, a 30-minute credit applied to a 60-minute lesson — MusicDesk shows a heads-up. You can adjust the lesson length or go ahead anyway.
- 5
Set the date and time, then save
Choose the Date, Start Time, and Duration, then click Add Lesson(s). You'll see Makeup lesson added! and the lesson will carry a Makeup lesson badge on the calendar.
Tips
- A single group lesson can redeem makeups for more than one enrolled student at the same time.
- If you delete a lesson that redeemed a makeup, the credit is automatically returned to the student, so it's never lost.
